Europe Trip 2019 - London; Day 1.2

30 Sept 2019

It was raining that evening. We decided not to let the rain deterred us. We took Tube to the London Eye and explore the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the Big Ben is under restoration, thus, the exterior is covered with construction thingy. Lucky for me, I have seen Big Ben in 2014. Hubby was quite disappointed but hey, that’s life..Hahha..

From London Eye, we googled Halal food around and found a few options nearby. We chose to try Zabardast, Indian restaurant nearby Waterloo Tube. Each of us tried different rice meals. Hubby’s Bariyani was quote nice but my curry rice have too much gravy to my liking.

After meals, we took the Tube and headed home to get our beauty sleep. Tomorrow will be an early start.

Europe Trip 2019 - London; Day 1.1

It has been a week now since Hubby and I are back in Malaysia. It’s time to jot down the memories and travel anecdotes that we picked up along our trip.

We purchased Qatar Airways ticket during their promotion back in July. I was just scrolling along my SocMed when suddenly I saw the ads. I said to him, “wow return ticket to Paris is just RM2000/pax!” then his reply, “let’s go then!”. I was like, reallyyyyyy????

Long story short, we were on board Qatar flight outbound to Paris Charles de Gaulle on 29th September 2019. This is our first long vacation together after a while. Feeling giddy all the way.
We are ready to fly!
We touched down Terminal 1 about 7am 30th Sept. It was a busy morning with long queues at the Immigration. It’s still a long way to reach our destination as we are heading straight to London via Eurostar on the same day.

From the Terminal 1, we have to take the CDGVAL shuttle to Terminal 3 where the train to Paris is. Take RER B train to Gare du Nord, where the Eurostar is. To purchase the ticket, it’s either by ticketing machines or the counter. Fare to GDN is €10.30/pax.

Arrive at Gare du Nord

The journey with Eurostar to London will take about 2 hours. Luckily, we purchase some food and drinks before boarding as the cafĂ© inside the Eurostar is not operating on that day. The station in London is St Pancras International, which is besides King’s Cross Station.
Off to London
For accommodation in London, we book the Kings Cross St Pancras Studio 1 via Booking.com. This is for 3 nights stay. The studio is within walking distance to Kings Cross and St Pancras International. After check-in, we decided to have some rest and freshen up before going out to explore a little and get some dinner.

Putrajaya at Night

Last Sunday, Hubby and I attended a wedding at Bora Ombak, Putrajaya.
It was a modern wedding, I can say. We left quite early and took the chance to explore Putrajaya area a bit.

I want to test my new camera phone anyway. So, what more better way that to test it at night, right?

It was very good I must say. I am very satisfy with the result.

Here they are:

It's been a while

I just realized I've been neglecting this blog and instead favor my Malay blog (more Rojak anyway).
Will try to balance that. Hopefully I have the time to recapture my experience during my 2018 travel.
If not, I will continue the entry with my incoming travel experience..

as per previous post, I'm counting down to my next Holiday!

Stay tuned!!

Travel Wishlist - UK road trip

This is one of my travel wishlist. To be able to do a roadtrip around UK. Including Ireland of course!

I wonder when  will my dream comes true!

Giethoorn, Netherlands

Once in a Lifetime experience at Giethoorn
October 2016

Giethoorn was a last minute additional itinerary on our Europe trip this time. But, it was definitely worth it. This beautiful village are nestled in the Netherlands. No cars or motorbikes are allowed here. We arrived later in the evening and stayed at Hotel Giethoorn, which requires check-in using a kiosk. You will need a credit card for check-in. There are no reception desk available. The room was spacious enough and the basic amenities are complete.

In the morning, we began our exploration on this charming village. It is a picturesque as people claimed it to be. We also wish that we are part of this community. Oh well...

We rent a boat as it is on of the best way to explore and see all that Giethoorn can offer. It was a day well spent and if were given another chance, I definitely will come again..
